Exhibited in AVIATION 174 - DKV ITB Exhibition.
I feel so accomplished to have finished this piece.
At first, I wanted to submit a watercolor artwork submitted for the Illustration I class (but the lecturer hadn't allowed us to get them back that time), so I decided to make another piece digitally, with more details and changes while sharing the same concept.
Way back then in Illustration I, the lecturer told us to draw something that depicts any of the elements: water, fire, earth, metal. I chose water and played with the proverb "Still waters run deep" XD
The sweet, innocent mermaid has a complicated character and magic that allows her to mess with the ship and finally, gets the prince.
I wanted to depict 'darkness' in vibrant and colorful coral life without being obviously dark.
Time: accumulatively, 24 hours+
